Hull City assistant head coach Dean Holden has been speaking to the media before Tuesday's Carabao Cup third-round tie against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light (kick-off 19:45 BST). Matt Crooks and Tim Iroegbunam will train on Monday and are likely to be in the travelling squad. New signing Sorba Thomas is eligible to play against Sunderland despite playing for former club Stoke City in the previous round.
Chelsea have been ranked the most productive academy in England and Wales for the fourth consecutive year. The Academy Productivity Rankings, compiled by Training Ground Guru, assess which clubs are producing the highest number of players aged 23 and under who are progressing into the men's game, using a data-driven methodology. Manchester United topped the rankings for three successive seasons before Chelsea claimed first place in the 2021-22 campaign.
