Michael Carrick has not picked Chido Obi in a competitive fixture (Picture: Getty Images) Manchester United teenager Chido Obi has become a target for Feyenoord, who want to snap up the striker on a loan deal. The 18-year-old moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in 2024 and was seen as one of the brightest prospects in the top flight due to prolific goal-scoring in the youth ranks. The forward was handed his first team debut last year and made eight appearances for the Red Devils in the second half of the 2024/25 season. The Dane failed to score in any of those appearances and dropped out of first team contention last season, not making a single appearance. Obi does not appear to have worked his way back up the pecking order under Michael Carrick and has been made available for loan. Reports from the striker’s home country earlier this month suggested there was ‘massive interest’ in a short-term deal for the youngster. Dutch side Feyenoord have emerged as one of those interested parties, with De Telegraaf reporting that they hope to take the Dane on loan. Giovenni van Bronckhorst already has Ayase Ueda, Ignacio Ferri and Shaqueel van Persie as options up front. It seems unlikely that Manchester United would want to loan out a prospect to a club unlikely to provide him with regular first team minutes, but Feyenoord’s position could change before the transfer window closes. Ueda has been linked with an exit and if he does, then Obi could be brought in as an option with more chance of getting on the field. Feyenoord do offer Champions League football, having already booked their spot in the league phase of the competition. Manchester United will be hoping their first team strikers are more potent at the weekend after drawing a blank in the 2-0 defeat to Hull City on Saturday. Matheus Cunha played up top, with Benjamin Sesko coming off the bench as he continues his return to full fitness. The Red Devils host Ipswich Town on Sunday and Sesko may be back in the starting XI against the Tractor Boys. Comment now Comments Add Metro as a Preferred Source on Google Add as preferred source
PSV have opened talks with NEC Nijmegen over a move for winger Sami Ouaissa, according to Voetbalzone, with the 21-year-old reportedly open to joining the Eredivisie champions. The move would come just months after PSV signed fellow NEC player Kodai Sano, and it is not the only offer on the table for Ouaissa this window. The 31-year-old, currently without a club following the termination of his Chelsea contract and a failed spell at Feyenoord, crashed his Lamborghini on the M3 back in May. Sterling also faces charges of possessing laughing gas and failing to provide a specimen following his arrest. Dangerous driving carries a maximum two-year prison sentence if found guilty. A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesman said: “A driver will appear in court next month to face charges following a collision on the M3. ‘Raheem Sterling, 31, from Berkshire, has been charged for the following offences: dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation, failing to provide a specimen. ‘The charges come following a single vehicle collision, involving a Lamborghini, on the M3 southbound, close to the Minley Interchange, on 28 May, 2026. The £270k Lamborghini veered across three lanes (Picture: Daily Mail) ‘No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported. ‘Mr Sterling is due to appear at Basingstoke magistrates court on 15 September.’ Dashcam footage of the incident, released in June, appeared to show Sterling pulling in front of another car without indicating before almost hitting the central reservation. A van is forced to brake suddenly to avoid crashing into the Lamborghini, which then veers between two lanes for several seconds. Sterling appeared to have a balloon in his hand during the clip. Several cars were forced to break to avoid a collision (Picture: Daily Mail) In 2021 he was allegedly caught inhaling laughing gas – sometimes known as ‘hippy crack’. Sterling’s brush with the law is the latest sad chapter in a career that has been in decline ever since he left Manchester City nearly four years ago After establishing himself as a key cog in Manchester City’s trophy winning machine under Pep Guardiola, the winger lost his way at Chelsea amid the chaos and upheaval at Stamford Bridge. A loan move to Arsenal last season, where it had been hoped he could rebuild his career working for Mikel Arteta, who had been a key part of the coaching team during the best period of Sterling’s career at City, turned into a disaster. Sterling managed just five Premier League starts during his time with the Gunners, scored just one goal in all competitions and failed to cement a place in a forward line that had been decimated by injuries.
