Life back in the Premier League after 25 years away does not get any easier for Coventry City. Manchester City flexed their muscles last time out with a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace. After only just edging past Bournemouth in their first game, new head coach Enzo Maresca has enjoyed an encouraging start in the unenviable position of replacing Pep Guardiola.
Fulham's campaign got off to the worst possible start when they conceded to neighbours Chelsea just 30 seconds into their opening match. Defeat by the Blues was followed by another at Sunderland and while there will be no panic at the Cottage as new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa is still settling in, fans might be aware that only twice before have Fulham lost their first three games of a top-flight campaign (1951-52 and 2020-21). Fulham have also struggled against Palace in recent years, winning just two of their last 13 Premier League matches against the Eagles (D6, L5), with neither victory coming on home soil.
BBC Sport examines some of the key themes before Saturday's match (12:30 BST), with Newcastle seeking back-to-back league wins and Bournemouth boss Marco Rose awaiting his first victory. Matthias Jaissle earned his first top-flight win as Newcastle boss against Tottenham last weekend and could easily already have two victories under his belt, with only an injury-time equaliser from Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai denying the Magpies on the opening weekend.
