Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been speaking to the media before Saturday's Premier League game against Brighton at Amex Stadium (kick-off 15:00 BST). Farke confirmed defender Joe Rodon will be out for eight to 10 weeks with a "serious hamstring injury", adding: "It is a big blow for us because he is a key player for us." The Leeds boss also said it is up to him to decide when the right time is for Gabriel Gudmundsson to return from injury.

All summer Andoni Iraola has said he will be "comfortable" come the start of September, when the transfer window is over and he has certainty over his squad. Senior figures said from the outset this was never going to be a transfer window like last summer, when the club spent a then record £415m under Arne Slot and broke the British transfer record twice by signing Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. Last summer, Liverpool also made £188m from selling players such as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah - and they ended the window with a net spend of £227m.
It equals the British transfer record which was paid to Newcastle by Liverpool for Alexander Isak last summer, and is a fixed fee for the 25-year-old Argentinian with no add-ons involved.
