The Blues had also won both of their first two league games this season and made the perfect start in north London as they went ahead after just two minutes. Morgan Rogers netted from the edge of the box as a free-kick was only half cleared, stunning the home fans as Arsenal conceded for the first time this season. The Gunners responded well and went on the attack, while Chelsea looked very threatening on the counter, making for a brilliant first half. Arsenal were level on 25 minutes as Kai Havertz found the bottom corner at the near post as he cut in on his left foot from the right flank. Questions will be asked of goalkeeper Emi Martinez as he was beaten low to his left on the equaliser. The champions were ahead early in the second half thanks to a crisp move as Christos Tzolis came in from the left, played the ball towards Havertz but he let the ball run to Martin Odegaard who powered a finish past Martinez.
