Newcastle United chief executive officer David Hopkinson says he is "naturally disappointed" by Eddie Howe's decision to step down from his role, but "immensely thankful" for the head coach's work over the past four-and-a-half years. "Eddie Howe and his staff leave with the deep gratitude and respect of everyone at Newcastle United," Hopkinson's statement read. After replacing Steve Bruce as Newcastle United manager in November 2021, Howe helped the club earn Champions League qualification on two occasions and also lifted the Carabao Cup in 2024-25.
