Thomas Meunier says belief in the project and being impressed by Sunderland's "ambition and desire to keep moving forward" were behind his decision to join the club. Meunier has made more than 550 senior appearances, including 83 international caps, across an impressive career that has included spells at European giants Paris St-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, and is looking to bring his experience to the Black Cats as they prepare for their first European campaign since 1973. "I am hugely excited and honoured to join Sunderland," he told club media.
