Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has said he was "sad" to learn the club could not renew his contract during the summer and that he had "options" to leave. Speaking before Liverpool's Champions League opening fixture against Atletico Madrid, Mac Allister said "no direct conversations" between himself and the club had taken place over a new deal.
