Truffert makes Opta's team of the season
Statisticians Opta have conjured up their Premier League team of the season based on data collected throughout the 2025-26 Premier League campaign. Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert has made the cut after playing a key role in a historic Cherries season that ended with Europa League qualification - the first time the club will play in Europe in its history. On Truffert, Opta said: The sight of Truffert flying down the left-hand side of Bournemouth's flank is well known to Cherries fans and it is borne out in the data - the Frenchman was the only player to make more than 50 overlapping runs in the Premier League in 2025-26.
