It has taken the best part of 12 months, but Everton are finally starting to feel at home at Hill Dickinson Stadium. On the eve of the new Premier League season, Blues manager David Moyes likened his side's first season at their new, state-of-the-art home on the banks of the River Mersey, which produced only six wins from 19 Premier League games, to a room in a new house that only had the wallpaper up. It was far from an ideal start for Everton, who are still without a natural right-back, but the performances of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, mixed in with a couple of magnificent saves from Jordan Pickford, were enough to help them navigate a difficult first half, in which Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Philippe Mateta struck the post for Palace.
Thierno Barry says he is looking for "revenge" in the new season. The 23-year-old forward was unimpressed by his debut Everton campaign, where he scored eight goals in 38 Premier League appearances and was joint-second for goals scored alongside Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. "I didn't have a good season so now is like a revenge," Barry said in a video posted by club media.

Now the curtain has come down on the 2025-26 Premier League campaign, here is my end-of-season review - with a look back to what I predicted in August. Everton were in position to reach Europe with a few weeks of the season to go, but a late collapse left supporters very frustrated with manager David Moyes and his players. Jack Grealish played his part before a season-ending foot injury, but the workload heaped on Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall eventually took its toll.
