The big question hanging over Crystal Palace currently is not who'll be in the squad next season but who'll be in the dugout. It's unlikely the Eagles will make any moves until a successor to Oliver Glasner is found – and the new man in has big shoes to fill. The best day is still to come in Leipzig.”Should Palace beat Rayo Vallecano in Wednesday night’s Conference League final to win a third trophy in 12 months, Glasner’s stay will have a fairytale ending that barely seemed possible in the dark days of January. After the holders were stunned by Macclesfield in one of the biggest FA Cup shocks recorded, he accused the chair, Steve Parish, of abandoning him by then selling the captain Marc Guéhi to Manchester City and told supporters who had chanted his name on three successful trips to Wembley last year to “stay humble”. This has been a strange season for Crystal Palace and manager Oliver Glasner - going from the sale of star players to unrest and then on to potential glory. A mid-season slump meant the holders suffered a humiliating FA Cup third-round loss to non-league Macclesfield, Marc Guehi left for Manchester City, then Glasner announced he was leaving at the end of the season.
