There was some bemusement among supporters when Everton announced the arrival of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has endured something of a nomadic career since making his professional debut for Arsenal in a Champions League tie against Galatasaray in 2014. The Blues have already conceded seven goals in three Premier League games this season and Leboeuf, a former Chelsea defender himself, has warned Alonso the recent recruit from Aston Villa can only do so much to bail his teammates out. Scoring a stunning last-minute equaliser against Manchester United on his debut was "an indescribable feeling", says Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
