The Blues started the season with a 3-2 victory in the west London derby, with goals from the impressive front three of Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer. The club will respond to the behaviour of some of their fans, though, after a sectarian chant was heard from the away supporters. Known as the ‘Flute for 50 pence song’, the chant includes the line ‘F*** the Pope and the IRA’. The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea will email all fans who bought a ticket for the game and ask them not to sing the song at future games. The club will also point out that a ban from attending matches is a possibility for anyone who does chant the chant. It was a performance to build for the future. There are things to improve for sure, but it was a good first day.’ He added: ‘[It’s important] to manage in difficult moments, not to lose this emotional control. We know the Premier League is fantastic because sometimes the games are out of your hands. ‘You don’t control them, so the players on the pitch need to know how to manage it – it’s as important as the tactics being right.
