Motherwell have submitted an appeal against a £5000 fine from the Scottish FA for a social media post criticising the decision to award Celtic a stoppage-time penalty at Fir Park in May. On what was the penultimate round of Premiership fixtures, Kelechi Iheanacho converted from the spot for a 3-2 victory after Sam Nicholson was penalised for handball. Motherwell released a video with the caption: "As the world of football mocks our game, we simply have to draw a line in the sand and shift the focus."
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman has joined Dundee on a season-long loan on his return from the World Cup with Canada. Jon McCracken, last season's first choice, left Dundee for Bradford City this summer and Goodman has been brought in to challenge Kieran O'Hara for the number one jersey.
Alex Paulsen revealed former Motherwell star Elijah Just was a key factor in his move to Fir Park. Just left Motherwell for a club-record fee earlier this summer, signing for Swansea City off the back of an impressive World Cup campaign with New Zealand. The 24-year-old goalkeeper made his Motherwell debut in Thursday's 2-0 win over HB in Conference League qualifying, making several good saves.
Tottenham have confirmed that full-back Andy Robertson will wear number three during his time at the club. This is common for left-backs but it is not the Scotland international's go-to number; at his past three clubs (Liverpool, Hull City and Dundee United), Robertson opted to wear number 26.
The four-match ban handed out to Rangers boss Derek McInnes is disproportionate, according to the club's former midfielder Andy Halliday. McInnes described the decision to award Celtic a late penalty at Motherwell in May as "disgusting" while he was still in charge of Hearts. Celtic's 3-2 victory at Fir Park on 13 May kept them one point behind Hearts, who they beat to the title a few days later in a final-day decider.
