Liverpool will submit an offer to PSG for Ibrahim Mbaye (Getty) Liverpool are planning to submit a bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, according to reports in France. Mbaye has been with PSG’s academy since the age of 10 and made his first-team debut under Luis Enrique two years ago. Last season, the 18-year-old scored three goals and registered two assists in 29 appearances for PSG as Luis Enrique’s side won Ligue 1 and the Champions League. But after returning from Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign at the end of January, Mbaye was only used sparingly by Luis Enrique and was left out of the squad for PSG’s derby against Lyon in April. He was ready, but I expect much more from all the players. It’s simply competition, a player has to stay out of the team. You have to enjoy every minute.’ Ibrahim Mbaye scored in Senegal’s defeat to France at the World Cup (AFP via Getty) At the World Cup this summer, Mbaye made four appearances and scored after coming off the bench in Senegal’s 3-1 defeat to France. Liverpool have already held extensive talks with PSG to sign Bradley Barcola this summer but according to L’Equipe, the Premier League club are planning to submit an opening bid for Mbaye ‘in the coming days’. The report adds that Liverpool will hold a fresh round of negotiations with PSG over a deal for Barcola next week. PSG continue to demand a €150m (£128m) transfer fee for Barcola, which Liverpool have been unable to match so far. Earlier this week, Spanish outlet AS claimed that Liverpool face strong competition for Mbaye as Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, Porto, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Roma have all made enquiries this summer. PSG are understood to be open to selling Mbaye but will demand a transfer fee in excess of €50 million (£42.7m) For more stories like this, check our sport page. Jarell Quansah is wanted by Arsenal (Picture: Getty) Jarell Quansah is reportedly open to joining Arsenal this summer after Bayer Leverkusen set their asking price for the versatile defender. Mikel Arteta is keen to add to his defensive options before the end of the summer transfer window after William Saliba sustained a back injury at the World Cup. The Gunners have opened talks with Aston Villa over a deal for Ezri Konsa, although there is a significant gap between both clubs’ valuation of the 28-year-old defender. Arsenal now appear to have widened their search, and are considering a move for Leverkusen defender Quansah. Get the latest transfer news every morning Sign up to our daily football newsletter for personalised updates on who your team is trying to sign and who won't be around next season. The 23-year-old joined the German club last year from Liverpool for £30million and made 28 league appearances in his first season. Quansah’s form saw him named in England’s World Cup squad this summer, with his performances clearly catching Arsenal’s eye as they look to sign a versatile defender who can provide cover at centre-back and right-back. Widespread reports indicate that Leverkusen do not want to sell the player, although Quansah is said to be keen on a move to the Emirates should a deal progress. Jarell Quansah made three appearances at the 2026 World Cup (Picture: Getty) And while club-to-club talks have not taken place, The Guardian reports that the Bundesliga club would demand at least €50m (£43m) to let Quansah leave. That fee would be less than the €70million (£59m) buy-back option that Liverpool had for Quansah, although that clause has now expired. Asked about Arsenal’s interest in Konsa and Quansah on Friday, Arteta said: ‘I’m not going to talk about any individuals obviously. Ezri Konsa is also wanted by Arsenal (Picture: PA) ‘What I can tell you is the ambition of the club, it’s big, we want to improve the squad, we want to evolve the squad, and in order to achieve that, we have obviously detected some areas that can be strengthened. ‘That’s what we are trying to do.’ On Arsenal’s plans for the rest of the window more generally, the Spaniard added: ‘It’s a very exciting part of the season, when a lot of things happen. ‘I think you create excitement; there’s an opportunity as well to evolve. There’s also a good way to understand what every player is feeling. ‘We are trying the maximum that we can to end up in 14 days, 13 days in the best possible condition to compete for every possible competition.’ Arsenal could also sanction outgoings before deadline day, with Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri both linked with moves to Galatasaray.
