The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who delivered a standout performance at the 2026 World Cup, is set to join the Premier League club for an initial fee of 30 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons ($33M + $5.5M USD), signing a five-year deal through 2031. Why did Suzuki’s deal with PSG collapse? At just 23 years old, Suzuki emerged as a key reason Parma avoided relegation from Serie A before carrying that form to the 2026 World Cup with Japan. His international displays caught the eye of top European clubs, with PSG aggressively pursuing his signature to the point of nearly finalizing a transfer. Following their UEFA Super Cup victory, PSG were actively working to close multiple summer deals, including Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, and Suzuki. However, on Saturday, a chartered plane sent to Parma returned empty after the French champions abruptly decided to pull out of the deal.
