The Uruguayan defender is set to undergo his medical on August 8 before the move is finalized. The deal is structured as a season-long loan that includes an option, but not an obligation, for Liverpool to sign Araujo permanently at its conclusion. That setup allows the Reds to evaluate his fitness and form, which dipped following a 2024 injury setback, before committing to a longer-term deal, while also giving Barcelona breathing room on their salary cap to register the rest of their squad for the season.
