Real Madrid took advantage of two key mistakes Inter had in the first half to put themselves with a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime. Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde scored for the Merengues in what seemed an easy win for them. Nevertheless, Inter pushed all the second half to get closer in the score. Carlos Augusto was able to score the 2-1 in the second half, but it was too late and was not enough to even get the draw at Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

It certainly wasn’t boring. ‘We had the chance to make it 3-0 in the final minute of the first half. I want to give credit to my players because pressing is something you train for and [Federico] Valverde’s goal is the result of hard work. ‘It’s one thing that neither you nor they have control of the match – and I’d say our opponent didn’t have it either. ‘[Thibaut] Courtois made a lot of saves, but how many chances did we miss in transition?
