Michael Carrick has expressed interest in bringing the left-back to Old Trafford to provide cover and competition for Luke Shaw. Shaw enjoyed one of his best seasons last term, featuring in all 38 of the club’s Premier League games, but United are wary about his workload given Champions League football is on the horizon.
