The winger was being pursued by both Arsenal and Manchester City this summer and revealed that he was very close to choosing north London as his next home. The Red Devils’ transfer business so far has seen Andrey Santos arrive from Chelsea, Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and Karl Darlow from Leeds United. There are likely to be more arrivals before the transfer window closes, but Manchester United go into their penultimate friendly of the season with just the three new first team signings. Maguire has seen Santos and Tielemans in action in training and friendlies already and has liked what he has seen. It is said that the 25-year-old wants another chance to prove himself in his homeland and while Marseille do not wish to sell him, they will not stand in his way if a suitable deal can be agreed. There are likely to be more arrivals before the transfer window closes, but Manchester United go into their penultimate friendly of the season with just the three new first team signings. It is said that the 25-year-old wants another chance to prove himself in his homeland and while Marseille do not wish to sell him, they will not stand in his way if a suitable deal can be agreed.
