Benjamin Sesko did not travel for Man Utd’s game at Fulham (Photo: Getty) Michael Carrick gave an optimistic update on Benjamin Sesko after the Manchester United striker missed the Premier League clash at Fulham on Sunday. There have been growing calls for Carrick to start Sesko after a difficult beginning to the season, with United winning just one of their opening four league games. The 23-year-old did start last Wednesday as the Red Devils were knocked out of the Carabao Cup but he did not travel with the squad for the match at Craven Cottage. Reports suggested Sesko had aggravated the shin injury that he picked up at the end of the last season and which continued to affect him at the start of the current campaign. Carrick did not clarify exactly what the issue was but was hopeful it wouldn’t affect the striker too badly. ‘He just felt a little bit of pain after the game the other night [against Brighton],’ the United manager told MUTV ahead of Sunday’s kick-off. ‘We’re assessing that.
