Haaland eyes Aguero’s Man City scoring record Haaland’s tally for Manchester City alone, 165 goals in 202 appearances, already places him second on the club’s all-time scoring list, behind only Sergio Aguero, who finished his decade at the Etihad with 260 goals in 390 games. At his current scoring rate, Haaland is on pace to surpass that mark within the next few seasons, a milestone that would make him City’s outright leading scorer in the club’s history. He has already claimed other Aguero-held records along the way, including the club’s all-time Champions League scoring mark, which he broke by reaching 49 goals in the competition, two more than the Argentine managed during his time at the club.

Nico O’Reilly has been ruled out of Manchester City’s game against Coventry (Getty) Nico O’Reilly missed Manchester City’s Premier League match against Coventry City after suffering an injury during the warm-up. The 21-year-old was named in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up for City’s game at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon. However, O’Reilly pulled up during the warm-up with a back injury and after speaking with the club’s medical staff he went down the tunnel before his teammates. O’Reilly was then replaced in City’s starting line-up by their new £125 million signing Enzo Fernandez. It was known from the start of the summer that Mikel Arteta was looking to improve his options on the left-flank but his side are now arguably even weaker in that position. Christos Tzolis was signed to replace Leandro Trossard but the Gunners failed to bring in another forward before deadline day and have since allowed Gabriel Martinelli to join Al-Hilal for £60million. That’s despite the Premier League champions pursuing deals for several huge stars over the summer, namely Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez. All three would have set Arsenal back nine-figures, with Rogers joining rivals Chelsea for £117m. But former Arsenal academy star and England international Jay Bothroyd believes a relatively cheaper option would have been the perfect signing – but the player has now joined the Citizens.
