Last month, Danny Rohl said he was "100% convinced" he would remain as Rangers manager for the new season despite a hugely disappointing end to the previous campaign. Rohl's side went into the split just one point behind leaders Hearts, but ultimately finished third after four defeats in their final five matches of the season. Admittedly, lots of that money was spent before Rohl's arrival under previous head coach Russell Martin and sporting director Kevin Thelwell, but Ryan Naderi, Tochi Chukwuani, Tuur Rommens and Andreas Skov Olsen were all brought in under Rohl's watch.
Skipper James Tavernier is a big-name departure this summer - but how many other Rangers players might follow him out the exit? Loan players Mikey Moore, Andreas Skov Olsen, Max Aarons, Jayden Meghoma, Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius have all returned to their parent clubs. Ibrox boss Danny Rohl is keen to bring Moore back after the Tottenham teenager's lively season-long spell, but most of the other loanees ranged from near anonymous to passable.
Rangers will not take up their option to sign Andreas Skov Olsen on a £9m permanent transfer this summer after the Denmark winger's loan spell from Wolfsburg. Back-up goalkeepers Liam Kelly and Kieran Wright will leave Rangers this summer, while centre-half Clinton Nsiala, midfielder Jose Cifuentes, wingers Oscar Cortes and Ross McCausland, and striker Danilo will be encouraged to leave on their return from loans, and Lyall Cameron, Thelo Aasgaard, Nedim Bajrami and Bojan Miovski would be better finding new clubs.
