Leeds beat Black Cats in New Jersey
Lukas Nmecha's first-half goal was enough for Leeds United to beat Sunderland in New Jersey and record their first win of pre-season. Nmecha caught Black Cats goalkeeper Melker Ellborg off guard with a low effort from outside the box. Whites boss Daniel Farke gave winger Harry Wilson his first start in a Leeds shirt after his free transfer from Fulham, while Sunderland counterpart Regis le Bris welcomed a selection of World Cup players back into the team, with striker Brian Brobbey being named in the starting XI.
