Brighton have signed a "modern" left-back blessed with "pace" in Jaouen Hadjam, says sporting director Mike Cave. The Seagulls secured Hadjam in a deal with Swiss Super League champions Young Boys. The 23-year-old has signed a five-year deal and brings experience early in his career having made 98 appearances across the Swiss League and Europa League, as well as appearances for Algeria during the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
New Newcastle signing Sean Steur says it is an "incredible feeling" to sign for a "giant club" after his £23m move from Ajax was confirmed. Midfielder Steur, 18, has become the third player aged 20 and under the Magpies have bought in so far this summer after Bazoumana Toure and Ewen Jaouen. "It was always my dream to play in the best league in the world, so this is really exciting," Steur told club media.

Côte d’Ivoire international is second summer arrival‘I am very excited to play at St James’ Park,’ he saysBazoumana Touré has completed a £43m move to Newcastle from Hoffenheim. Ewen Jaouen was always an avid follower of the Bundesliga from afar, but the Frenchman's future appeared to lie elsewhere. "With your characteristics, you could be a goalkeeper in England one day," he was once told. Jaouen has since undergone a medical before completing a move to Newcastle United.
Former Newcastle United defender Steve Howey believes the addition of goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen could be a "very good signing" for Eddie Howe's side, adding he is glad the deal has been completed quickly. The Magpies have brought Jaouen to St James' Park for around £18.5m, even though the 20-year-old goalkeeper has never experienced top-flight football before. Everybody's got their views on [Aaron] Ramsdale and Nick Pope, but you listen to the stuff I've read about this goalkeeper, he's quite well thought of for a young goalkeeper.
