Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has signed a new three-year deal with Liverpool. The 29-year-old is currently with the squad in the USA for the pre-season tour and made four appearances last season - he came on off the bench during Liverpool's Merseyside derby win over Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium in April and started the next two Premier League games. "I'm absolutely delighted," said Woodman, whose new deal will take him through to 2029.
Tyrique George has said there is "a lot more to come from me" after his move to Everton in a deal worth up to £24m was confirmed. The 20-year-old winger spent the second half of last season on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with an option to buy for £25m this summer. "I loved my time here on loan last season, so as soon as I knew it was a possibility to return, that's always what I wanted," George told club media after his four-year contract was announced.
The news Everton start the season at home with a 3pm kick off on a Saturday is cause for celebration for fans before a ball has been kicked. Last season, the Toffees had just four 3pm games on a Saturday at Hill Dickinson Stadium. First up, Crystal Palace under new boss Pierre Sage will mean tougher prep for David Moyes and his staff as they work out how a new-look Palace will operate.

Everton are still weighing up whether to trigger Tyrique George's option-to-buy clause this summer following his loan spell from Chelsea. The 20-year-old forward's future remains unclear, as does the value of the option, although it could be in a similar ballpark to the £22m fee agreed with Fulham on deadline day last summer. George made just one start in 11 appearances at Hill Dickinson Stadium but, at times, looked impressive from the bench.
