Teenage forward Luca Williams-Barnett stole the show in Tottenham's 4-2 penalty shootout win over Sydney FC in a sign of how the club have changed. It preceded a shootout in which Sydney FC duo Joe Lacey and Alexander Popovic hit the post and had a penalty saved by goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, with Sandro Tonali, debutant Andrew Robertson and Dane Scarlett all scoring to secure victory after a 1-1 draw.
Midfielder Sophie Rutherford is the third player to join Motherwell on loan from SWPL rivals Rangers this summer. Robertson will link up with Mia McArthur and Saoirse Coyle-Morrow at the North Lanarkshire club, who have also signed Ellie MacDonald after her Queen's Park exit. Rutherford and MacDonald were team-mates at Queen's Park in SWPL2 last season.
