According to reports, a £40million deal and personal terms was quickly agreed, with Ahanor to head to London for his medical. But in a surprise twist, Premier League rivals Palace have swooped in and are now negotiating with the Serie A club to bring Ahanor to Selhurst Park on loan. According to Sky Sports, talks are still at a preliminary stage and it is entirely possible that Chelsea agree to bring the 18-year-old to west London next summer. Takehiro Tomiyasu says he is "excited to get started" after signing for Crystal Palace. The 27-year-old defender, who most recently spent four seasons with Arsenal, joins after a successful trial period with the Eagles. "I'm excited to get started," said Tomiyasu.
Crystal Palace are set to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer following a successful trial and are considering a move for winger Solly March. BBC Sport reported last week that Palace and defender Tomiyasu were in talks over a permanent contract that would see the Japan international return to the Premier League. A broad agreement on terms had been in place, with Palace head coach Pierre Sage tasked with deciding whether to sign the versatile 27-year-old defender.
