Joao Palhinha is largely expected to leave Bayern Munich this transfer window, and he has hinted he would be open to a return to Portugal. The post Palhinha hints at return to Portugal amid Bayern exit speculation appeared first on SoccerNews.
According to reports in Portugal, new Benfica head coach Marco Silva wants the Portuguese club to sign Joao Palhinha, with whom he worked at Fulham before the midfielder left to join Bayern Munich in 2024. Only a year into his spell with Bayern, Palhinha went out on loan to Tottenham Hotspur, and being set to […] The post Benfica to move for Palhinha appeared first on SoccerNews.
Seb: Sell Richarlison - has been awful this season we need a prolific goalscorer. Keep Palhinha - great this season, kept us in the Premier League. Kinsky should be loaned out to gain regular playing time as I feel he could possibly be a Spurs number one in the near future but more experience is needed for the Premier League.
Errol: Signing Joao Palhinha is an absolute no-brainer. Jonny: The Spurs fans are very divided on this matter. Many see Palhinha as one of our reasons for decline this season in possession and chance creation, and so replacing him should be a priority to raising our squad's technical quality.
A key part of Tottenham's midfield planning for next season will be whether Joao Palhinha's loan from Bayern Munch is made permanent. There have been conflicting reports over whether Palhinha will remain in North London, with stories in BBC Sport's Gossip column earlier this week suggesting he will instead try and engineer a move to Sporting. Despite Tottenham's poor season, it could have ended far worse had it not been for Palhinha's performances and late season goalscoring heroics.
Another central midfielder, surely this is a wind-up. You could argue the former even saved them from relegation with his crucial goals against Wolves and Everton, though it seems unlikely Palhinha's loan from Bayern Munich will be made permanent at this point. Spurs may not be that right now – though signing Stiller would show serious aspiration to return to the Premier League's upper echelon.
Sign up now! Sign up now! Sign up now? Sign up now! After spending the best part of 30 years letting their own fans down, Everton chose Sunday afternoon to disappoint fans of almost every other Premier League team. David Moyes had one big chance to end a season that promised so much but ultimately fizzled out into nothingness on a high! Instead, while Leeds were holding up their end of the quid pro quo by letting West Ham steamroller them in east London, the scouse spoilsports couldn’t even manage a shot on target at Tottenham until the ninth minute of added time. Indeed, even if Tyrique George’s late drive hadn’t been saved by redemption’s Antonin Kinsky, it wouldn’t have counted for anything, because João Palhinha had already given Spurs a one-goal lead. And that was that. Spurs are safe and, after Hearts not winning the Scottish Premiership and Arsenal not bottling the title race, it was further evidence to suggest that many people with skin in the beautiful game are simply not allowed to have nice things. "Who doesn't want to play for Tottenham and stay here?" Joao Palhinha replied when asked whether he would like to make his stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium permanent, after helping the club to Premier League safety this season. The defensive midfielder has made 45 appearances during his loan spell from Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists, including one goal in Tottenham's final-day relegation decider against Everton. "I have always shared my thoughts," Palhinha said.
